The great debate of what a gamer should be putting into their body is an age-old debate spanning the entire history of modern video games. While the users of Tumblr tear their beating hearts apart on the topic of which food is more superior for their genius intellect (no[r]mally revolving towards the areas of pizza, cheese and, Internet cool dude food of 2010; bacon), the debate on the beverage has been clear to me despite what anyone else says ever. Water IS the ULTIMATE beverage for THE GAMING populace.

Nintendo’s DS portable game console sold miraculously. Why exactly comes down to a lot of factors; the games, the current climate, the price, and many more reasons. After taking a beating from Playstation 2 in the 6th generation console race, Nintendo had an enormously successful period in the next generation of consoles. I have to admit; I have some very fond memories of the DS and love a lot about it. But looking at Nintendo now and some of the things that kept Nintendo going in the period the DS conquered all, I can’t help but think that they’ve carried some bad attitudes with them.

I play games with the lights on. I know what you’re thinking, that the glare is terrible and that I should be shot. But there’s much more to this situation than meets the eye. You see, as a modern gaming expert in the field of playing video toys I have reached some conclusions about the methods of engaging in interactive experiences through play.

There really is no excuse for me not publishing anything substantial to this blog. I could say there’s been a lot of gaming and a lot of good times, but that’s pussy footing around the real issue here: I’m a lazy shit. To be honest, I’ve got a whole heap of half written articles on my desktop waiting to be finished but for now you’ll have to put up with the greatest copout piece of all.

Like most video game consumers at the moment, I’m angry. I’m not entirely sure who they’re angry at, but I’m angry with myself. As basically anyone who reads what my drooling face outputs as I smash it into the keyboard in hopes of a coherent piece of writing, Bayonetta 2 released on the Wii U this week. I’m very proud of Nintendo, over the few years I’ve been following them intently, and this year they’ve really come out, guns blazing. While season passes for Mario Golf and Mario Kart 8 aren’t exactly new, when they let Tecmo Koei handle the Zelda franchise they put a step forward in sharing one of the biggest brands in the gaming industry. And back to Bayonetta 2, they’ve finally released the risky project for their standard portfolio.

After reading a bunch of reviews I decided to purchase Mimimi Production’s digital title ‘The Last Tinker: City of Colors’ on PS4. The reviews were incredibly mixed, with some comparing it to classics such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Jak and Daxter while others were completely stifled as to who the target of the game is due to odd difficulty curves and pacing issues. I’m currently finding myself in the middle of these ideals. It’s most certainly not a bad game. It has all the right stuff to make a wonderful game.

I’ve been thinking about writing a review for Mario Kart 8 but find it a moot endeavour when everyone who reads my posts has made up their mind on the game and already bought it. What else can I say about it that hasn’t already been said by review sites and your buddies on social media? It’s a genuinely good game, with incredible sounds and visual design, the gameplay is solid and becomes extremely fun when playing with friends. And while you have the opportunity to play online, I’ve been having a hoot and holler playing split screen with family and friends. It’s crazy that I play a lot of games, and the most fun I can have is when playing with others.
